University of Hawaii at Manoa -
William S. Richardson School of Law

Location
The William S. Richardson School of Law is located on the main University of Hawaii at Manoa campus, which is about 4 miles, or a 9 minute drive, from downtown Honolulu. The campus is also about 3 miles from beautiful Waikiki beach, 10 miles from Pearl Harbor naval base, and about 35 miles from North Shore beach. Honolulu has a very good bus system and a substantial number of the students do not own vehicles. The school's close proximity to Honolulu is ideal for the students to earn internships downtown and for current attorneys to participate in law school activities. Honolulu has a Federal U.S. District courthouse, a Federal Bankruptcy courthouse, Hawaii Supreme Court, Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals, Hawaii Land Court, Hawaii Tax Appeal Court, as well as numerous federal and state buildings. Honolulu is considered a small legal community, with only one large firm having an office downtown. Nonetheless many students find positions in the area and some find very good positions in the Western mainland states.
