Law School Facts

Yes, however this is a very difficult task. Often the lower ranked schools have a much tougher grading curve, sometimes even a forced grading curve wherein a certain percent of students must fail or do poorly, and it is difficult to earn the high grades necessary to transfer to a better ranked or more well known school. Do not be discouraged though as many more law schools are accepting transfer students and some law schools do not have such a difficult grading system; also if you work hard you may do very well and earn admission to the school of your choice. Be sure to check to see what schools accept transfer students and what kind of grading system the school you will transfer out of has. A few of the law graduates at this company transferred to their respective law school alma maters. It was very difficult for them and many of their classmates attempting to transfer as well were not successful. Often the students that transfer to a better school do very well their first year and many are in the top 10-15% of thier class. It is important to check the transfer requirements at the law school as the school may require a certain GPA or class standing. If you do not have sufficient grades you may want to consider transferring to another school within the same ranking tier or just above it. If you found out too late that your current school's grading curve is too difficult, making it difficult to obtain a job after you graduate with low grades, you could transfer to a school with a better chance to earn better grades as you will start fresh with no GPA at the transfer school and often second and third year grading curves are much more reasonable making it easier to earn a higher GPA.
Can I transfer from a lower ranked or lesser known law school to a much higher ranked and well known school? If so how do I go about transferring?
